Writing workshops
I’ve spoken with several wonderful authors about how they’ve learned to write. What has given them that extra boost to become a USA best selling author?
The obvious great source of information is through your local chapters. As I’ve said before, I belong to Valley of the Sun and Desert Rose romance writing chapters. They bring in fantastic speakers who help you with the craft. One thing I’ve noticed about Romance Authors is a willingness to give back and help others.
Another workshop, which I’ve taken advantage of, is Laurie Schnebly Campbell’s classes (writers u). I took her on-line synopsis class and learned a lot. I still struggle, but at least I have some knowledge on how to do it. Thanks Laurie.
I recently learned about two others. One workshop is given by David Freeman and another is given by Donald Maass. I’ve heard fantastic things about both workshops. I looked at David’s classes, unfortunately it was during the same time as RT. The other one I looked at was Donald’s. Guess what, it’s in July.
The price of Donald Maass’s class is $1800. Wow, Yikes, way too much money, I know. But I’m investing in my future. And, so should you. It’s tax deductable, it includes the hotel room, all meals, one on one time and more. Go to the site and see what it includes.
No matter what you do, do something. Each of us learns in different ways and have different needs. It’s important that you continue to learn, write wonderful books and know others will help you with your career. So reach out and touch someone (okay tmi and don’t send pictures).
Share with everyone on what workshops have helped you. Isabella

Laurie Schnebly Campbell is wonderful! I absolutely recommend her classes and workshops. She will be at RWA this year with one of her workshops on Friday morning at 8:30. Anyone attending RWA this year should not miss it. And, she is lovely in person.
