Double Whammy
Some days are better off if you just stay home in bed.
Today I guess I should have. First thing this morning, on my way to Tia’s house, I was hit by a Sun City driver (old geezer) who ran a stop sign. Fortunately no one was hurt. But, my little convertible sports car is ruined.
I am so bummed. I just love that car. It had to be towed, no way I could drive it, the tire was all bent and the back side panel was crushed and something drug the ground as I moved it from the middle of the intersection.
I get everything taken care of, the police report, the towing, the rental car, and finally get home to relax. I check my e-mail and guess what I get?
A rejection letter!
Not that I’m surprised about getting the rejection, but darn it, couldn’t it have come tomorrow instead of today?
It was from Dorchester. Tia and I met with Leah at the Desert Dreams conference last April and she had asked us to submit to her. She was very nice in her rejection and said, “I thought you had an interesting setup and lots of great action at the beginning. Unfortunately, ya da ya da.” After the unfortunately part, I don’t remember what she said.:-)
Really, she was sweet and I appreciate her not sending a form letter. I’m not discouraged. Tomorrow is another day and I bet it’s better than today. Has to be.
That’s it for me. I’m off to soak in the tub then I’m going to bed.
Hugs,
Dani
