My Other Baby

Many authors’ think of their books as their babies. They nurture them, feed them, watch them grow, and eventually they have to send them on their way.

I’m always relieved, excited and depressed when that book that has taken me for ever to write is finally done.

Strangely, I never thought I’d consider something else my baby, until I started working on my web site–again. I’d designed my own site and hadn’t considered hiring someone to do it until several weeks ago. For a while, I debated about buying software to get a more sophisticated site. I worked hours on trying to produce better, modern-looking pages. Hours later, they looked better, but not by much.

Then I decided I should spend my time writing and not fiddling around on trying to be a web designer. After all, if I want to be a writer, I have to write. I found Rae Monet, who does gorgeous web sites, and she just finished my site.

Talk about being pleased. I couldn’t have asked for a better baby. I may not have delivered it, but I’m just as proud. Check it out at www.lynnelogan.com.

Woo Hoo Another Review!

Layover got another review. This one is from Sensual Reads & Reviews. 4 Roses!

Bree’s desire for a sexy stranger has been driving her to distraction. She dreams of a hot encounter in the bathroom of the plane they share every month. She has been fantasizing for months now, and now she’s got the chance to make that desire a reality. Steven has been curious about Bree for some time now, but has never allowed his feelings to get any further than that. Discipline is his middle name, and the young woman strikes him as being a bit on the wild and free side. When the two of them are informed of a two hour layover, Bree decides to take matters into her own hands as he warms to the thought of experiencing her body. A little bit of liquor and a willing friend help make this a layover to remember.

Layover was a tremendous story, aside from a few details that seemed forced, this is a masterfully told tale of the dance between mutually attracted strangers. The sexual tension is well-presented, dialogue is believable, and this brings the characters to life. Tia Dani does a wonderful job with this hot little encounter, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading about hot, spontaneous, “lift your skirt and go for it” encounters.

Coming this weekend~From Brit Blaise!

Slayers Inc.

What happens when JENNA BRADLEY loses her lifelong friend and is bitten by a vampire?  To make matters worse, when she decides to go after the vampires who killed Rosa, she comes head to head with a group whose mission is to kill all vampires…no questions asked.  Even more difficult to swallow is her attraction for the man in charge of Slayers Inc.—a man who would take her life in a heartbeat if he learns her secret.  If she had a heartbeat…

Vampire slayer, “COOP” COOPER, didn’t expect the distraction of a knockout firebrand with a penchant for carrying assorted weaponry on his mission to hunt murdering vampires. Jenna’s a loose cannon and he wants to get rid of her, not fall in love. Beside, he has secrets. What would she think if she discovers he’s a werewolf?

Jenna and Coop can’t fight their attraction. Hot sex, mysterious emeralds, vampires and werewolves, together in the rain forests of Colombia where vampires are legal and lawlessness abounds. Will they survive the heat?

Blog Action Day

Bloggers Unite - Blog Action Day

This is my normal day to blog with the BMGs. The subject I’m speaking about today is methyl iodide from hence forth referred to as MeI.

Some of the things I know about MeI:

After years of being banned, being touted as too toxic, too dangerous it’s now being considered for the production of strawberries. Isn’t that special!

strawberries.jpg

There are proposals for its use a soil disinfectant, a soil fumigant, a fungicide, herbicide, insecticide and a fire extinguisher.

People in the know who have valiantly tried to block its usage:

It’s dangerous to laboratory workers.
http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/search/f?./temp/~qxnNgQ:1

Chemists who work with it have to take special precautions. I recently heard about a laboratory worker’s wife who spoke up of how her husband feared to work with the substance. It’s more dangerous than related chlorides and bromides according to the experts.

This crap mutates DNA!

No wait…maybe I should have been more objective, more eloquent. This chemical reacts to genetic material in cells, alters the structure and leads to mutations. WTH! And it’s a known carcinogen. Just what we need…another one touching the food we eat. And if we allow this to happen it isn’t just the food we eat, it can and will contaminate ground water.

It contributes to ground level ozone…which in turn exacerbates many lung/breathing related maladies. This acutely toxic chemical affects the nervous system, the lungs, liver, and kidneys.

The rats have died…or worse. Animal studies:
http://www.panna.org/campaigns/docsDrift/HSDBAnimalTox.pdf

So why in the world would this substance be allowed anywhere near our food sources? Why is the EPA allowing this to happen?

Remember “P” stands for Protection!

Do you believe in coincidence?

Arysta, the company who produces this horrible chemical has toiled for eight long years and invested more than 11 million of their hard earn dollars trying to persuade the EPA to register methyl iodide as a pesticide. What would $11 mil of persuasion feel like? And the EPA hung tough! Way to go!

Until…

Arysta’s former chief executive, Elin Miller,…(oh, no where is he now?)

He’s now a top official at the EPA and has been appointed administrator of its northwest region last year. Can anyone say, “Conflict of interest.” Repeat after me; “Conflict of interest.” A little louder now: “CONFLICT OF INTEREST!!!!!”

Imagine that….the EPA has placed the fox in the hen house, they’ve hired a chemical company mogul to protect the environment.

I guess we can’t really expect that the Environmental “Protection” Agency actually plans on protecting us.
